Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the nuclear scientist who built the nuclear power of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, passed away on Sunday, October 10, at 7:04 AM local time.


Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan had been ill for some time. According to Pakistani media, he had difficulty in breathing due to which he was shifted to RL Hospital in Islamabad around 6 am this morning where despite all the efforts of doctors, he could not recover due to severe lung damage.

Sometime before his death, the news was circulating that a Pakistani nuclear scientist had passed away, but this news was denied. He finally passed away at 7:04 am, which was confirmed by Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid. Sheikh Rashid and Pakistani Minister of State for Information Farrukh Habib expressed deep sorrow and shock over the death of the Pakistani nuclear scientist.

Brief introduction of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan:


Born in Bhopal in 1936, Abdul Qadeer Khan moved to Pakistan with his family in 1947 on the occasion of the establishment of Pakistan. In 1967, he received his engineering degree from the University of the Netherlands, a European country. He later earned his doctorate in metallurgical engineering from the University of Belgium and joined the Physical Dynamics Research Laboratory in Amsterdam.
