Long march of banned TLP towards Islamabad, strict security arrangements

Strict security arrangements have been made in Rawalpindi in view of the expected long march towards Islamabad by the banned Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan (TLP).
Most of the roads in the inner city have been closed, the road leading to Faizabad has been closed by placing containers on the Sixth Road, the road to Faizabad Orji Camp has also been closed and sealed.

In addition, the Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus service from Saddar to Faizabad has been closed, people are facing severe problems due to road blockages and traffic jams on various highways.
It may be recalled that the TLP has been holding sit-ins in Lahore and Multan for the last several days and has now announced a long march towards Islamabad.
Sufi Sarwar Saifi, a member of the TLP Majlis-e-Shura, had announced a long march towards Islamabad after Friday prayers.
Internet service off
Internet service has been shut down in different areas of Lahore and Multan to deal with the sit-in. Net service has been shut down in Iqbal Town near Multan Road Grand Battery Stop.

Net service is also closed in Nawankot, Samanabad, and Sabzazar. Containers have been installed near Samanabad turn on Multan Road and at the grid station stop.
Containers have also been set up at Dubai Chowk on Boulevard in the Allama Iqbal Town area of Lahore. The closure of major roads is causing severe hardship to citizens and local residents.
The route of the metro bus service in Lahore has also been shortened while the Orange Line metro train service has also been suspended.
Entrances and exits of Lahore city closed
Entrances and exits of Lahore city have been closed with containers. Water cannons, tear gas, spray, and rubber bullets are available at various places.
Police say sit-in participants will not be allowed out of the city.
Committee formed to negotiate with Tehreek-e-Libek
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has set up a committee to negotiate with Tehreek-e-Libek. The committee comprises provincial law ministers Raja Basharat and Chaudhry Zaheeruddin.
The Punjab Chief Minister said that we all need to work together for peace and reconciliation in the country.
According to sources, activists of the banned Tehreek-e-Libek have started a march and containers have been removed from Chowk Orphanage.
It may be recalled that the TLP demanded the release of its leader Allama Saad Hussain Rizvi.
Demonstrations under PDM across the country
The opposition launched a nationwide protest against the government over inflation
Apart from Tehreek-e-Lubaik, protests against inflation are also being organized across the country by the opposition Ittihad-e-Pakistan Democratic Movement.
Demonstrations have started in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and other cities since Friday prayers.
In Lahore, the PML-N is increasingly participating in these protests.
